Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Two weeks out, we now know what time you can play, when you can download it early and how much space you need. Meanwhile, Rockstar's marketing campaign has reached Spain.

At a glance

  • Launch: November 19, 2026, at 00:00 local time in each country.
  • Digital pre-load: from November 10.
  • Size: 212 GB on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
  • Physical edition: includes a code; its pre-load opens on November 12.
  • Barcelona: a city tram is wrapped with artwork of Jason and Lucia.

What time GTA VI unlocks

The game unlocks at midnight, 00:00 on November 19 in each country's local time, according to PlayStation Store information reported by Vandal. Because the launch follows time zones it is not simultaneous worldwide: New Zealand is among the first to play and Mexico and Central America among the last, up to about 19 hours apart.

When pre-load starts and how big it is

Rockstar has confirmed that digital pre-load starts on Tuesday, November 10, earlier than previously announced:

  • PS5: 00:00 on November 10, local time in each country.
  • Xbox Series X|S: at the same moment worldwide, 00:00 GMT on November 10 (4pm PT / 7pm ET on November 9).
  • Physical edition: the box contains a code redeemed on the console; pre-loading with it opens on November 12.

The game takes 212 GB on both consoles, so free up space before pre-load. Day-one patches may add a little more.

The GTA VI campaign reaches Barcelona

The promotion is now visible on Spanish streets. After the first posters appeared in Madrid a few days earlier, a Barcelona tram is now running wrapped in artwork of Jason and Lucia, together and on their own. Outside Spain, Miami, the city that inspires Vice City, is getting much of the campaign.
